Kindly arrange to dispatch all the consignments at the earliest to avoid delay in clearing your exhibition cargo. Original set of documents to be sent to Kuwait International Fair or one of our official clearing & forwarding agents. The following requirements are to be fulfilled as required by Kuwait Customs for clearance.
Three copies of Pro-forma invoices must be completed and each copy signed with original signatures by the company director, company secretary or partner of the exhibiting company. The use of ditto marks, idioms and abbreviations is NOT permitted on these documents. All invoices must be prepared in ENGLISH and clearly indicate the following information:
- Invoice Number
- Invoice date
- Unit Price
- Total Price
- Gross & net weight of each package
- Total Gross Weight
- Total value of shipment and its currency
- Total number of packages
- Manufacturer's name & address in full form (abbreviations are not accepted)
- Country of Origin
- Terms of payment & delivery e.g. (Ex works, FOB, C+F, CIF)
- Purchase order reference and L.C. number if Applicable
One original and 2 copies of a detailed packing list must be provided giving the exact list of contents per case and clearly showing the dimensions in centimeters, gross/net weights in kilos of each package, total quantity, total number of packages and gross weight including packing materials.
One original and 1 copy of the Certificate of Origin are required for all goods. Please note, the goods should clearly carry the mark "MADE IN ….... " on all the items. These must also be in English and show a brief description of the cargo, total number of packages, gross weight of shipment, manufacturer's name and address, country of origin and the Israeli Boycott office stand declaration.
NOTE: If the Certificate of Origin cannot be legalized by Chamber of Commerce, then there should be a separate manufacturer's declaration in addition to the Certificate of Origin which should also be legalized.
As per circular issued by General Administration of customs, Certificate of origins must be attested from Kuwait Diplomatic missions only. If no Kuwait Diplomatic missions are available then from GCC Countries Diplomatic missions. If absolutely no GCC Diplomatic mission available then only it can be attested from an arab mission available.
Kuwait Customs Authorities require separate invoices for the following types of goods, legalized by the Kuwait Embassy:
- Exhibits - machines and apparatus
- Goods offered for sale in Kuwait
- Prototypes or models which will be returned to their country of origin
- Stand fitting material - tools or any goods, which have to be returned after the show
- Literature "Giveaways" other than literature and working materials
We have been advised by Kuwait customs Authorities that they have decided to impose restrictions/penalties for shipments destined to Kuwait and hence:
Amendments on Airway Bills should be duly stamped and signed by the issuing agent. If not a fine of KD. 50/- will be charged.
Consolidation shipments are not acceptable to Kuwait and the word "consolidation as per attached manifest" should not be mentioned on the Airway Bill and not even corrected after typing. A fine of KD. 50/- will be charged.
- All shipments imported in Kuwait will be subjected to 4% customs duty on CIF Value.
